I am the Editor-in-Chief of KosmoBlog and STONE DEAF PILOTS. I have guest blogged on LAVOICE and Wired on a variety of topics differing from photography, current events, deaf issues, and technology. Please visit my blogging page to see writing samples.

I believe in bridging the gap between the deaf and hearing communities, and I strongly feel that technology is a powerful tool for this. The field of assistive technology is still growing and there is a great need for technology products that can enable the deaf and hard of hearing to function more independently in the world. I specialize in determining how current technology products can be more deaf-friendly. Due to my knowledge of technology usability and experience being deaf, I am a qualified consultant for any company wishing to make their products more deaf friendly.

Case studies:

  1. I reviewed the Apple iPhone and made suggestions on how it can be more deaf friendly.
  2. I reviewed the Hiptop/TMobile Sidekick and discussed why its features make it extremely popular among the deaf community.
  3. I analyzed Verizon’s new VCAST Mobile TV service and made two suggestions on how to enable closed captions.
  4. My wishlist includes touch-screen menu systems for drive-in windows and SMS services for 911 emergency calls.
I am available for research, consulting, and product beta testing.
